Tekashi 6ix9ine Breaks Instagram Live Record With 2M Views In First Appearance Since Prison Release
Tekashi 6ix9ine has made an incredible comeback since his prison release, as he broke the Instagram live record within 2 minutes of going live. By stream end, he racked up over 2 million views in what was his first public appearance. Previously, the record was held by Teddy Riley and Babyface who went head-to-head in their #VERZUZ battle.
After the rapper’s release in early April, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, he slowly made a return on social media, dropping off cryptic messages, inching him to today’s historic event. A part of those messages included a post stating, “Im going live friday 3:00PM EST,” with the caption, “Lets get this party started. Don’t get scared now.” Two days after, he announced the release of his comeback single, “GOOBA,” and accompanied it with a video, just before going his live was set to begin.

After crashing the platform, 6ix9ine successfully logged in and as the live began, thousands of viewers flooded in. Within the first two minutes, the counter hit 1M and as the stream went on, he capped at over 2M viewers. Throughout the live, Tekashi not only blasted all his haters, but apologized for snitching, providing all the reasoning (aka tea) for his actions.
