While sitting down with The Shade Room’s founder Angie Nwandu, Tekashi 6ix9ine held nothing back while discussing his upbringing, career, and life after being in jail for a year. The Brooklyn rapper said he grew up in a church household where his mother emphasized the importance of centering God in his childhood and briefly discussed his father. Nwandu asked 6ix9ine if he felt he embodies his father’s spirit based on his personality and antics. He says, “I feel like what happened to my dad made me the person that I am today. I feel like the world is not fair….all of the things I went through in my life made me who I am today.”
The rapper also dug deeper about street code and the music industry hiring rats but disliking him for snitching in order to protect himself and his family. He mentioned Snoop Dogg’s case and said he didn’t get any backlash for “snitching” because he’s well-liked by the general public and there was no social media in the 90s. After that statement, Nwandu emphasized how the black community is very overprotective over their legends in the music industry so their reaction will be different in comparison to 6ix9ine. He also called out Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez after he claimed the industry doesn’t like rats but has no problem being signed to one i.e. Meek Mill. Perez was a witness for the DEA in the 90s after she was arrested for possession of 35 kilos of cocaine and wore wires to expose her meetings with cocaine dealers as reported by the Daily News.

Prior to his comments about “rats” in the industry, he also talks about women who have been “ran through” before making it in the industry. He also says he’s not an affectionate person and prefers friendships with women in reference to his relationship with Jade.
He also addressed his feelings towards his child’s mother Sara Molina after she allegedly slept with Treyway member and former manager Shotti.
He went into full detail about his kidnapping and stated he knew who kidnapped him. 6ix9ine said he thought he was going to die if he didn’t follow his captor’s orders. After the kidnapping, the rapper said he felt like everything was setup after the alleged rumors about Sara Molina sleeping with Shotti and the former manager getting into a fight 20 minutes after his court appearance in October 2018.
His reason for snitching led up to the moment when he discovered that Shotti and Molina were messing around with each other after going through his text messages.
