The 15-year-old male who was involved in the shooting death of Pop Smoke confessed to firing several bullets into the rapper’s chest after breaking into his home.

LAPD Detective Carlos Camacho testified during a preliminary hearing Thursday that the teen was secretly recorded by his cellmate at a juvenile detention center last May. During the interview, the teen said he and Pop Smoke, real name Bashar Barakah Jackson, starting fighting after he broke into the home with his accomplices. He shot the rapper three times on the back and even admitted to asking for his jewelry before the shooting took place.
The four suspects learned about Pop Smoke’s Airbnb address after they spotted his address in an Instagram video and saw a photo of him carrying a huge stack of cash.

As we previously reported, Cory Walker,20, was the only adult in the group and confronted Pop Smoke while he was taking a shower. Camacho added during the testimony that the rapper was also cooperating with giving his jewelry to the group and tried to rush them out of the home.
