Teen Dies On School Trip After Teachers Ignore Her Desperate Pleas For Help

A 17-year-old British team died on a school trip to New York City after her teachers ignored her please for a doctor because they didn’t want to interrupt the trip.

The Bristol Post reports that Ana Uglow, from Bristol Grammar School, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai West hospital in December of 2019 during a US tour with her school.

Ana’s parents said that she had asked her teachers to see a doctor because she thought she had a chest infection, however, they declined.

“Ana said that she was worried she had a chest infection, that she felt much worse and had a fever and a cough,” Ana’s mother Natalia Uglow told the inquest into her death.

“She said that the teachers had really annoyed her as she was out of breath and exhausted and could not keep up with their walking but that they just ignored her and carried on,” she added. “She said that they were ‘real history fanatics and all they cared about is chasing those sites and were very excited about them.”

Her cause of death was ruled as bronchopneumonia and sepsis complicating an influenza upper respiratory infection.

things took a turn for the worse when her school trip got to New York City. On Dec. 18, Ana spoke to her mom and said  that her teachers had “forced her to go on a walking tour as they could not leave her alone.”

The next day her parents were informed that she was in critical condition at the hospital.
