Teen Dies After Being Set On Fire And Stabbed In Bronx Apartment Building
A family is currently mourning their teen boy following a tragic incident that occurred on Wednesday.

According to the New York Post, 18-year-old Winston Ortiz died after being stabbed three times and then doused with gasoline and set aflame with a match in a Bronx apartment building. The incident took place on the fifth floor of 1045 Woodycrest Ave. in Highbridge at about 3 p.m, the news site notes.
NBC reports that the young boy was in an argument with his assailant 10 minutes before the assault. A senior NYPD official with direct knowledge of the case said that neighbors heard screaming and initially thought the building was on fire but went out into the hall and witnessed the gruesome scene. It was said that witnesses even attempted to put the fire out by pouring water on Ortiz. Police say the victim, who lived just a block away from the building where he was attacked, was taken to Harlem Hospital in critical condition but later died.
As of right now, investigators are not clear on the potential motive. There were no immediate arrests and police have not released any information on a suspect.
