Ted Cruz Rebukes Reporter Who Asks Him To Wear A Mask: ‘You’re Welcome To Step Away If You Like’
Texas Senator Ted Cruz was filmed on camera disarming a reporter’s simple request that he wear a mask during a Senate presser on Wednesday.
While stepping up to the microphones, Cruz was stopped before he could speak by the unidentified reporter asking, “Would you mind putting on a mask for us?” He responded,
“Yeah, when I’m talking to the TV camera, I’m not going to wear a mask,” Cruz responded. “All of us have been immunized, so…”

The reporter explained, “It’d make us feel better.” However, not for Cruz. Instead of showing good leadership, Cruz hit back and said before chuckling, “You’re welcome to step away if you’d like.” He added, “The whole point of the vaccine — CDC guidance is what we’re following.”
Cruz himself later took to Twitter to react to the viral moment. He tweeted, “Lefty reporters have lost their minds. #commonsense”
