This is just heartbreaking. Socialites, a man attending Taylor Swift’s recent tour in Houston, Texas, has been killed after being struck by a drunk driver following the show, his family has revealed. 20-year-old Jacob Lewis had watched Swift at her Eras concert on Friday before being hit by a Volkswagen in the early morning hours on the Southwest Freeway by suspect Alan Bryant Hayes. Jacob was struck on the freeway after he and his sister had experienced issues with their car.
His dad, Steve Lewis, said his son died instantly following the impact when Jacob was pushing the vehicle to a nearby exit. Steve continued by sharing in his Facebook post that his son’s last act was pushing his sister to safety and is believed to have suffered minor bruises and scrapes during the incident. “You know, to make it worse, the driver got out, helped my daughter get my son out from under his car, saw what had happened and got in his car and left,” Steve told KHOU.

A nearby driver is said to have watched how Alan allegedly drove off shortly after and decided to follow him before cops were called and took the suspect into custody following a foot pursuit. Alan was then charged with failure to stop and render aid, as well as driving while intoxicated, jail records confirmed. “They made it to the shoulder, and Jacob was pushing the car to the nearby exit, when they were rear-ended. Jacob died instantly. The driver fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police,” Steve added.
“Jacob left this world much too early. After taking a gap year this year to work full time at Chick-Fil-A, he was to begin his sophomore year in the musical theater program at Sam Houston State University this fall. He had already excelled at theater, choir, and dance during his High School years, and we looked forward to new exciting adventures and successes to come.”

He continued, “Jacob was passionate about his studies, his friends, and his hobbies. He enjoyed being a Dungeon Master for his friends’ pursuits in Dungeons and Dragons. He loved playing Kirby, Sonic, Mario, Portal, and Zelda video games. He loved reading novels and comic books, watching videos on YouTube, and listening to music. He loved playing and singing music!”
Fans have been paying tribute to Jacob on social media. It’s unclear whether Taylor has gotten word of the tragedy. May he rest in peace.
May The Lord take him by the hand and take him to the place that He created for all of His children to be. And to his parents and all his family may some time heal your heart and peace be with you ❣️
Much love 💚 DZ
