Police said that Swift’s 71-year-old father allegedly attacked a 51-year-old man named Ben McDonald at a ferry wharf on Sydney’s North shore. The alleged assault reportedly happened around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday (local time). Police said that the alleged victim, McDonald, did not require medical treatment as he didn’t believe he would have lasting injuries, “just very sore chops” on the left side of his face.
While speaking with the Daily Mail, McDonald claimed that Scott and his 34-year-old popstar daughter were partying at the time of the alleged incident. T-Swift and her dad, affectionately known as Papa Swift, were traveling from Homebush on a luxury mega-yacht called Quantum.
Per the Daily mail, footage leading up to the alleged altercation shows Papa Swift walking up the wharf while allegedly flashing the middle finger to photographers. However, a spokeswoman for T-Swift told Daily Mail Australia that the paparazzi were being quite “aggressive,” implying that the middle finger was warranted.
The spokeswoman continued, “Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water.” However, McDonald, who is the chief executive of Matrix Media Group, fired back at the claim, calling it “utter rubbish,” and noting that the only female at the scene was Taylor herself. He said, “This is the sort of bullsh*t I might expect. Which female was that? The only one there was Taylor.”

Additionally, the Sydney photographer claimed that the alleged altercation was caught on camera and never showed the photographers acting “aggressively” as suggested by T-Swift’s camp.
McDonald said after T-Swift and Papa Swift made it off the mega-yacht, the father allegedly “charged” at him, without any reason. He said at first he thought it was a security guard coming at him and was shocked when he realized that his alleged attacker was the Taylor Swift’s dad.
He explained, “In 23 years of taking pictures, I have never seen anything like it. She got off the boat, she walked towards security guards who were shoving umbrellas in our faces.” According to Daily Mail, the footage they obtained shows the camera “jolting” with movement from behind T-Swift’s umbrella. A security guard repeatedly yelled out that it “wasn’t him,” as McDonald asked, “Who was that?” After the alleged altercation, McDonald said he went to The Rocks Police Station and reported everything he claimed to have experienced.
