Well, that was quick After a brief time together, Taylor Swift and Matt Healy have reportedly called it quits.

As previously reported, Swift’s rumored boyfriend has been making headlines over the past few weeks. The first time it was because his old podcast appearance resurfaced where he can be heard laughing while others joked about rapper Ice Spice and her appearance.

This week, Healy showed his tail during a performance at Denmark’s NorthSide Festival. While there he kissed a male security guard on the lips. Now, although this is something that he’s done in the past, and even sucked someone’s thumb once during his show, Taylor Swift fans are just not here for him; and according to these updated reports, looks like the singer isn’t either.

According to TMZ, a friend close to the situation tells the outlet that Taylor is in fact “single.” While the reason behind their split is currently unclear, fans are just thrilled to hear that they are no longer an item.

One person said, “The best birthday gift so far. No longer having to hear about this.” A second person said, “Like I said, Taylor was going through her rebound era, but y’all called me crazy and delusional. All I can say is I think Taylor is going to take time for herself and then she’s gonna find the right guy that will be the love of her life after going through this phase with Matty.” A third added, “When I tell you I jumped out of my bed and cheered I’m not even gonna react like this if we get an Italian concert date.”

More On Matty Healy Backlash

As we previously reported, during Healy’s conversation with hosts Friedland and Nick Mullen on The Adam Friedland Show, the three spent time discussing the “Princess Diana” artist. Healy laughed as the two podcast hosts made fun of Ice Spice using derogatory terms about her body and ethnicity, calling her an “Inuit Spice Girl,” and “chubby Chinese lady,” while seemingly using Chinese and Hawaiian accents to mimic her. He later apologized for the old comments at a show, telling concertgoers back in April, “I just feel a bit bad, and I’m kind of a bit sorry if I’ve offended you. Ice Spice, I’m sorry.”

Healy addressed all the online commotion again. He claimed that he wasn’t too bothered by the criticism and that it doesn’t “actually matter.” He said at the time that anyone who is offended by the episode is “deluded.” “You’re either lying that you are hurt, or you’re a bit mental for being hurt,” he said. “It’s just people going, ‘Oh, there’s a bad thing over there, let me get as close to it as possible so you can see how good I am.’ And I kind of want them to do that, because they’re demonstrating something so base level,” the songwriter continued saying.

Before ending his rant, he said ultimately, “Nobody is sitting there at night slumped at their computer, and their boyfriend comes over and goes, ‘What’s wrong, darling?’ and they go, ‘It’s just this thing with Matty Healy,’” the 1975 frontman explained. “That doesn’t happen.”
