Responding to the headlines, Swift took to Twitter with a caption, “Been getting a lot of questions about the recent sale of my old masters. I hope this clears things up.” In a lengthy picture post, she explains how she first came to learn about the sale with a private equity company called Shamrock Holdings. She says, behind Braun’s back, they gave her a heads up about the deal; which they say Braun will continue to profit off of fo years to come. Swift also notes that Braun “would never even quote [her] team a price. These master recordings were not for sale to [her].”
Included in her tweet is a second photo of her letter of response to the private equity group who purchased her music.
