Tasha K To File An Appeal — Cardi B Releases A Statement After Major Win In Defamation Suit Against Blogger:‘Being Able To Walk Away From This Victorious Brings Me Great Happiness’
Cardi B took another win this Tuesday in her defamation case against Youtuber Tasha K after jurors decided that the blogger and her company should pay the rapper $1.5 million in punitive damages. In addition to that, the jurors also awarded Cardi every dime of the expenses and attorneys fees she requested. To add, on top of the $1.25 million in actual damages awarded with Monday’s verdict in the case, the total compensation that Miss Tasha and her company Kebe Studios should pay now tops $4 million, @rollingstone reports.

While Tasha K is planning to appeal, saying through her lawyer, “We disagree with the verdict, and we will be filing an appeal,” Cardi, meanwhile is happy about the outcome of the case: “After almost four years of repeated libel and slander against me, being able to walk away from this victorious brings me great happiness,” she said in her own statement Tuesday. She added, “During this trial, all of you have learned about the darkest time in my life. That moment in time was fueled by the vile, disgusting, and completely false narratives that were repeatedly and relentlessly being shared online. I thought I would never be heard or vindicated and I felt completely helpless and vulnerable,” she wrote.
“I have never taken for granted the platform that my fame allows me to have, which is why for over three years I dedicated every resource I had to seek justice. And not just justice for me. The truth is that the intentional harm that was done to me, is done to countless others every day. The only difference between me and the high schooler who is being cyberbullied and lied on by their classmates is the money and resources I have access to. We collectively have to say enough is enough,” she said.
This was an emotional journey for Cardi B who revealed during her testimony that she felt suicidal over Tasha’s allegations. As we previously reported, Tasha accused her of being a prostitute and claimed the rapper had STDs. After a long legal battle, Cardi B officially won her defamation case against the celebrity blogger real name Latasha Kebe — Monday in federal court in Georgia.
