The America’s Got Talent judge took to social media on Sunday, Aug. 9, to give fans an update on his condition. While doing that, he also sent an important message to fans about safety: “Some good advice…If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time,” the 60-year-old star tweeted. “I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages.”
As we previously reported, the music and TV mogul fell off a new electric bike in a “minor accident” at his house in Malibu on Saturday. A spokesperson for Simon said at the time: “Simon has broken his back and will be having surgery this evening. Simon had a fall from his bike on Saturday afternoon whilst testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his house in Malibu with his family.” They added that “He hurt his back and was taken to the hospital. He’s doing fine, he’s under observation and is in the best possible hands.”
Cowell also thanked great hospital staff for taking care of him: “And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met.
Stay safe everyone
Simon.”
