Kanye West Reportedly Pulls Out Of Easter Sunday Service With Joel Osteen
Earlier this week it was reported that rapper Kanye West was slated to join Joel Osteen‘s planned virtual Easter Sunday Service. It was said that Kanye was going to perform from Los Angeles with his choir but according to TMZ, that’s not happening anymore.

The news site reports that Ye has pulled the plug due to safety concerns. Sources with knowledge tell TMZ that Joel and Kanye spoke on Friday trying to work out the final details of Sunday’s virtual spot. While Kanye’s choir was planning to wear masks and maintain appropriate social distancing positions, apparently, Kanye just didn’t feel safe enough for everyone involved. Not only that, but the sources say he couldn’t carry out his vision, so he decided to pull the plug.
Kanye has not publicly confirmed these reports and as of right now it is not clear if he’s planning to hold his own church Sunday for Easter. In the meantime, Joel’s virtual service is expected to move forward with celebrity guests Mariah Carey and Tyler Perry, the Lakewood website has confirmed.
The service will stream on Sunday, April 12 at 8.30 pm CDT on the church’s website and social media channels.
Kanye and Joel have teamed up in the past. Just last year, Kanye and choir visited Joel’s Lakewood Church in Houston and his appearance was one of the most popular Joel has ever had, TMZ notes.
