For the last couple of days we’ve seen peaceful protests, others which have turned into riots and ended in looting. Now, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is calling out for help to get thing’s under control.

Kemp declared a state of emergency early Saturday to activate the state National Guard. He tweeted that up to 500 members of the Guard would deploy immediately “to protect people & property in Atlanta.” He said he acted at the request of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, who earlier appealed in vain for calm.

As we previously reported, Chauvin was seen on camera detaining George Floyd for suspicion of forgery. During the arrest, he pinned him down to the ground and places his knee of Floyd’s neck. The 46-year-old lost consciousness and later died at a local hospital.
