In a recent episode of the SHE MD podcast, SZA shared candid insights into her health journey, specifically her decision to remove her breast implants due to a heightened risk of breast cancer.

SZA disclosed that despite being at an elevated risk for the disease, evidenced by the presence of metal markers in her breasts for fibrosis and lumps, she initially chose to get breast implants, as reported by TOO FAB. Her family’s medical history magnified the singer’s concerns, as both her mother and aunt have battled breast cancer, and she possesses dense breast tissue. The singer pointed out that these factors contribute to her having a 53 percent likelihood of developing breast cancer in her lifetime.
Ultimately, this prompted her to reverse her augmentation decision: “I took them out. I put them in. They ended up hurting me. I got way too much scar tissue because my breasts are too dense, and I’m not supposed to have breast implants.” She continued, “I didn’t feel good, and it was painful, so I took them out.”

Beyond her breast surgery, SZA has been open about other cosmetic procedures, including a Brazilian butt lift. In a 2023 interview with Elle magazine, she humorously described her enhanced posterior as an accessory, stating, “I treat my butt like a purse; it’s just there to enhance whatever else.” She clarified that her choice to undergo a BBL stemmed from personal desire rather than industry pressures, aiming for aesthetic satisfaction with minimal gym time.
“I always wanted a really fat a** with less gym time. I didn’t succumb to industry pressure. I succumbed to my own eyes in the mirror and being like, ‘No, I need some more a**.'”
“That’s some Jersey s**t. You know what I’m saying? When I feel like I have too much to say and I don’t want to say it cute. I have a deep desire to shut everyone up and that probably comes from high school and all that type of s**t. My mom always told me that I’ve always been the kind of person where people either really f**k with me or they just don’t like me at all,” she continued when asked about addressing the rumors in her music.
