A family is currently mourning the death of a 17-year-old who was fatally stabbed while waiting for his mother to pick him up from an El Sereno restaurant.Â
Local authorities announced that they believe Xavier Chavarin death is the first of two stabbings that were reportedly committed by the same suspect in the same area. According to Abc7 the stabbing occurred on Friday (March 3) briefly before 4 p.m. on the 4500 block of Valley Boulevard.Â
Los Angeles Police Department spoke with the family and they revealed that Chavarin was a straight-A student who attended Woodrow Wilson High School and was supposed to graduate in June. Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho said he was shocked by the horrific attack and sent 10 additional counselors to Woodrow Wilson High School to comfort staff and students. “I’m shocked, as the entire community should be shocked,” Carvalho said. “When something goes wrong with a kid like that, the entire community should bow its head and think about what’s happening in Los Angeles.”
Locals who reside in the community were shocked to find out that this incident took place outside of King Torta restaurant. The LAPD says the man just hopped outside of a car and walked up on Chavarin  and stabbed him multiple times with a large knife. The teenager later fell to the ground and died inside the restaurant while he was pleading for help.
The suspect seen in the video has been described as a white male, about 5 foot 1 with long black wavy hair and he was dressed in all black! According to ABC 7 the man was seen getting out the passenger seat of a 1996 to 2001 Honda CR-V. #Socialites lets pray for the family involved in this horrific incident.
