Supreme Court Orders Donald Trump To Hand Over Coveted Financial Records To D.A.
Although his lawyers claimed he was immune of subpoenas while in office, it looks like Donald Trump and his team have been defeated in their long attempt in trying to withhold his highly coveted financial records, this as a Supreme Court has now ordered him to hand over all requested material to a Manhattan D.A.
On Thursday, justices revealed a historic 7-2 ruling that forces Mazars USA, Trump’s accountant, to turn over all tax returns and records subpoenaed by Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, Jr. He says, “This is a tremendous victory for our nation’s system of justice and its founding principle that no one — not even a president — is above the law. Our investigation, which was delayed for almost a year by this lawsuit, will resume, guided as always by the grand jury’s solemn obligation to follow the law and the facts, wherever they may lead.”

Furthermore, New York prosecutors initially requested eight of the president’s most recent personal and corporate returns, this as they pertain to a grand jury investigation into whether Trump’s namesake company falsified records while trying to pay off two women who alleged affairs with him ahead of the 2016 election.

Trump ended up taking to Twitter ahead of the decision, writing, “PRESIDENTIAL HARASSMENT! The Supreme Court sends case back to Lower Court, arguments to continue. This is all a political prosecution. I won the Mueller Witch Hunt, and others, and now I have to keep fighting in a politically corrupt New York. Not fair to this Presidency or Administration! Courts in the past have given “broad deference”. BUT NOT ME!”
