A leader of a Titanic expedition, G. Michael Harris, has expressed little hope for the five individuals who went missing aboard the submarine. The multinational search efforts to locate the submersible and its occupants have intensified, with additional ships and aircraft joining the mission. The US Navy, along with the US Coast Guard and the Royal Canadian Air Force, have dispatched experts and equipment to aid in the rescue mission. The gravity of the situation cannot be understated, as the submersible named “Titan” has just over 30 hours of oxygen remaining. Despite the unique and challenging nature of the search effort, authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to effect a rescue.

“Worst situation is something happened to the hull. Our fear is that it imploded at around 3,200 meters,” he told Fox News in a new interview. Asked whether the Navy could help in some sort of way, he responded, “No […] I don’t see anything that can happen at this point. I’m trying to be somewhat cautious, I don’t want to be the naysayer of what’s going on. When you’re talking 6,000 pounds per square inch, it is a dangerous environment.” The disappearance of the submersible occurred during a dive to view the resting place of the iconic Titanic.

The tragedy has captivated the attention of people worldwide, as they anxiously await any developments in the search. The depth of the ocean floor adds a layer of complexity to the rescue operation, making it even more challenging for the authorities involved. However, their determination is unwavering, and they are sparing no resources in their efforts. The missing individuals aboard the submarine are facing a race against time as their oxygen supply dwindles.

The situation is dire, and every passing moment increases the urgency to locate them. The international community has rallied together, recognizing the magnitude of this crisis. The support from various nations demonstrates their commitment to saving lives and providing assistance wherever possible.

Harris’ expertise and experience make him an invaluable asset in this operation. However, even he acknowledges the slim chances of finding the missing individuals alive. Despite this grim reality, he remains resolute in his commitment to exhausting every possible avenue in the search efforts.

  2. I guess I am just stupid…. What kind of a project is this when there is not a secondary unit with the primary, so that one can help or report any issues with the other? And there is not even a recovery plan before they send people to that depth? I pray for the people in the vessel and their families. I hope they will be found and rescued safely.
