Hollywood Unlocked participated in an all-black female panel focusing on season five of NBC’s hit show “This Is Us.”

“This Is Us” season 5 is back and focusing on topics that are extremely important in today’s social climate!! We exclusively spoke with Sterling K. Brown and Susan Kelechi Watson about this season and what fans can expect to see.

If you have not already watched the first two episodes, we won’t fully spoil it for you, but the topics though heavily on COVID 19, and Black Lives Matter.

The first episode really focuses on the death of George Floyd and follows Sterling’s character as he is a black man adopted into a white family. The storyline sheds light on how his siblings and superficially nonblack people can be allies and what is the right and wrong way to go about showing their support.

During this panel, we also discussed how shooting the show impacted their personal life and how the storylines go beyond the TV screen and impact them today.
