Former NBA player Stephen Jackson is dragging rapper Lil Yachty after he mentioned Jackson’s late friend George Floyd in a new song.
Recalling George Floyd’s Murder By Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin
As we previously shared on Hollywood Unlocked’s Instagram, social media users were dragging Lil Yachty for filth. Critics were slamming him after he premiered a new song, in which he distastefully namedrop George Floyd.
Floyd is the 46-year-old Black man who was killed on May 25, 2020 after being pinned to the ground and kneeled on his neck by Minneapolis Police officers. In the incident, a bystander filmed former police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes. Floyd’s death notably acted as a catalyst for the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement and protests.
A jury ultimately found the ex-cop guilty of unintentional second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. A judge later sentenced Chauvin to 22 and a half years in state prison for Floyd’s murder. He was also hit with a 21-year federal sentence on the grounds he violated Floyd’s civil rights.

Lil Yachty Dragged By Stephen Jackson And Social Media For ‘Super Trash’ And ‘Demeaning’ George Floyd Lyric On New Song
On Thursday (August 14), the Georgia-born rapper appeared on Plaqueboymax’s live stream and previewed his new song. Yachty told the streamer, “I want them to hear me on this one” As the song began to play, the streamer and others in the room nodded their heads to the beat as Yachty mouthed the lyrics. However, social media users weren’t here when he began to rap, “Put my knee up on her neck, I went George Floyd.”
Users began dragging the 27-year-old rapper and calling him “vile,” “disgusting” and “super trash” for mentioning Floyd. It’s also noted that Yachty previously received backlash for calling the BLM Foundation a “scam.” He made the comment during a May appearance on Quenlin Blackwell’s ‘Feeding Starving Celebrities‘ series.
Soon after Yachty’s clip went viral, George Floyd’s close friend, Stephen Jackson, who considers himself “brothers” with “twin” George Floyd, joined the long line of people ready to drag the Yachty.
Stephen Jackson took to his Instagram Story and fired off on Lil Yachty over George Floyd. He said:
“Man, I’m so out the way, man. Trying to mind my business. Y’all see the type of big sh*t we got going on and sh*t we doing, man. I’m making changes in my life. I’m doing the right thing. I’m winning. I’m just trying not to pay attention to you idiots, man. But like, it’s just hard, bro. Like…
Lil Yachty, bro. You’ve been wack, my n***a. But you think you saying George Floyd name and trying to use his name in a bar that’s gonna make people like your wack a** music, my n***a? That sh*t weak. Y’all the only era that feel like demeaning the dead and saying that sh*t is cool, my n***. It ain’t. It ain’t. And it’s me and the whole Third Ward, and the whole Houston, Texas, riding behind G, man. Don’t ever say his name, bro. None of y’all knew G. Nothing about him. But y’all want to say his name for clout.
…Put a nip on his neck, I do drugs… That’s some weak a** sh*t, Yachty. Don’t let somebody die in your family. We gonna do a whole skit about it and see how funny it is, bro. Cut that sh*t out, man. It’s only you wack Sambo-a** n***as that do sh*t like that.”
