Starbucks Customer, Whose 13-Ingredient Order Led To Employee Firing, Will Continue To Order Elaborate Drink

A Starbucks customer, whose 13-ingredient order went viral and also led to an employee firing, will continue to order his $14 elaborate drink.

After having his loaded drink go viral via a barista named Josie Morales, “Edward,” a 31-year-old California resident, identified himself as the man who ordered a double-blended venti-sized Caramel Crunch Frappuccino, which included five bananas, extra caramel drizzle, extra whip, extra ice, extra cinnamon, seven pumps of dark caramel sauce, extra caramel crunch, extra salted brown butter topping, five pumps of frappuccino roasted coffee, seven extra frappuccino chips, and heavy cream.

As mentioned, a photo of the drink went viral earlier this month via Morales, who’s since been fired for tweeting the drink with a caption, “On [today’s] episode of why I wanna quit my job.” The company citied their reason for Morales violating its social media policy. However, Edwards is cooling as he says he has no intentions of simplifying his order, now dubbed “the Edward,” after Morales’ termination. He says, “I don’t see a reason why I wouldn’t order a drink like this again. I just ordered another drink just like it yesterday.”

Meanwhile, Starbucks’ execs encourage other customers to get fancy and customize their drinks like Edward. A spokesperson stated in email, “Customizing beverages at Starbucks and our baristas’ expertise in helping customers find and craft the right beverage has and always will be the heart of the Starbucks experience. There are many ways for customers to modify their favorite beverage at Starbucks and most customizations are reasonable requests from customers.”
