St. Vincent Volcano Evacuation Ships Only Open To COVID-19 Vaccinated Residents

As we reported last Thursday (Apr. 8), 100,000+ people in St. Vincent and the Grenadines had to evacuate their land ahead of Friday’s eruption of La Soufrière volcano. Now, it’s being learned that evacuation ships have only been made available to COVID-19 vaccinated residents.

With at least 20,000 people displaced by the ongoing eruptions, leaving them without access to power, clean water and clean air due to the spew of ash and hot gas, cruise ships have been dispatched to ferry residents to safety. However, officials are refusing to pick up passengers unless they can prove they’ve been vaccinated.

And likewise with neighboring islands (Barbados, Grenada, Antigua and St. Lucia, etc.) who look to offer refuge — they are only accepting fully vaccinated refugees. It’s reported that the volcano has been dormant since 1979 and caused around $100 million in damages. In 1902, an eruption killed over 1,000 people. Seismologists fear last week’s eruption “is just the beginning” for the volcano’s activity, which can go on for weeks if not months. Fortunately, no injuries nor deaths have been reported. #Socialites, please join us in sending prayers to those affected.
