South Florida Veterinarian Arrested & Charged For Sexually Abusing Animals & Possessing Child Porn
Prentiss Madden, a 40-year-old South Florida veterinarian, has been arrested and charged for sexually abusing animals and possessing child porn. On Tuesday (Mar. 16), Madden, the medical director of Caring Hands Animal Hospital, was taken into custody by federal agents and placed into Miami’s Federal Detention Center.
On Wednesday (Mar. 17), a judge ordered the vet be held until Friday, when another hearing will be held to determine if he’ll be granted bail or not. Madden is being charged under a federal law that prohibits animal abuse — he is the first alleged offender to face this federal charge. U.S. Homeland Security Investigations agents raided his home on February 24, they found social media chats of Madden discussing “the sexual abuse of animals and children.” Specifically, they found alleged conversations of him bragging about having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy from Orlando. The complaint also alleges Madden possessed multiple photos and videos “depicting bestiality” and conversations of him alluding to him sexually abusing dogs he was treating.
After Madden’s arrest, his place of work stated, “Our legal team, and every single member of the Caring Hands family will be doing everything in our power to aid law enforcement and facilitate their investigation and prosecution.”
