Soulja Boy recently had some harsh words to say to Metro Boomin. The distasteful exchange occurred on Mother’s Day when things got heated between Soulja Boy, Metro Boomin, and 21 Savage.
Things for started when fans were bringing up Metro Boomin’s old tweets after Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s feud. Soulja Boy noticed a resurfaced tweet from Metro that said, “My phone rings to come to the studio with Jeezy. Yours rings to send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down.”

Despite being posted nearly 12 years ago, Soulja Boy became aware of the tweet and responded by telling Metro to remove it in a lengthy rant on Instagram Live. Soulja Boy, who was unhappy with the situation, also took the extra step of wishing Metro a Happy Mother’s Day on X (previously known as Twitter). This action was particularly harsh considering that the 30-year-old producer’s mother passed away in a tragic murder-suicide in 2022, and he has openly discussed how much this loss has affected him.
After making disrespectful tweets about Metro Boomin’s deceased mother it led 21 Savage to step in and have his friend’s back.
21 Savage quickly came to Metro Boomin’s defense, challenging Soulja Boy with a defiant “Or what?” in response to his threats. The Atlanta rapper then stated, “Or I’m slapping the sh*t out of him and Metro.”
Once things began to get a little quiet and Soulja Boy started to receive backlash for his comments, he decided to issue an apology to the super producer.
“I apologize to @MetroBoomin for over reacting over an old tweet. Condolences to his mom. I’m going to seek therapy and anger management. I’m done responding to hate, new or old. 💯🙏🏾”
