‘Soho Karen’ Ordered To 100 Hours Community Service For Public Intoxication Charge

While she awaits her case from the December incident at the Arlo Hotel — where she wrongly accused a young Black teen of stealing her phone — “Soho Karen,” real name Miya Ponsetto, has been ordered to 100 hours community service for her public intoxication charge.

The latter offense stems from a DUI arrest last February at the Beverly Hills Peninsula Hotel, which earned her the misdemeanor charge. It’s since been dropped by a judge in lieu of the 22-year-old woman performing 100 hours of community service. This decision came down after prosecutors in the case said she had “no criminal history” prior to her DUI.

Although Ponsetto didn’t attend the hearing in person, her 42-year-old co-defendant mother, Nicole, made an appearance and accepted the plea deal after being charged with both public intoxication and battery of a police officer. Nicole has been grated a 12-month diversion and should she obey all laws into next year and also complete 100 hours of community service, her case could be dismissed.

The mother and daughter’s defense lawyer Shaten Ghatan stated, “We’re thankful and we’re grateful Miya’s matter was dismissed. And Nicole will be earning a dismissal.” Meanwhile, Miya faces charges in her December 2020 attack and another DUI arrest in California last year.
