Nelly’s 11th Black and White Ball returned to St. Louis on Sunday, Dec. 3 and a bunch of stars showed up and showed out!
While clips online showed some of the great looks from the carpet, fans couldn’t get over one moment that happened while Nelly and Ashanti were onstage.
An Instagram Live video that is making its rounds online shows Ashanti placing her hands on her stomach. Her boo Nelly then places his hands on the same spot before he looks to the crowd and sticks his tongue out. Folks in the crowd were left shocked and confused with one saying in the background, “What! Are they having a little boy?” Others are heard chanting “seal the deal,” as the couple walks off stage.
One person said, “DID #NELLY JUST ANNOUNCE #ASHANTI IS #PREGNANT???? Help yalll 🤩🤩😫😫😫😫” Another tweeted, “I think… I think Nelly just told everyone Ashanti is pregnant. 🧐” A third said, Yea, iight! Get this rumor off the TL 🥹 Ashanti better not be pregnant by Nelly after allowing him to spin the block 10 yrs later. You get the ring FIRST after them many yrs idc 😭💀. They were just in a silly goofy mood 🤪 in the video y’all lmao.”

Ashanti and Nelly started dating in 2003. During their on-and-off 10-year relationship, they also made headlines for their various musical collaborations. However, fans were disappointed to hear they had split in 2013. Now, a decade after going their separate ways, Ashanti and Nelly are clearly back together and seem to be inseparable.

Ashanti officially confirmed their romance during her appearance at the 2023 VMAs, where she carried a clutch that featured photo of her and Nelly from decades before.
While speaking to TODAY on the red carpet, the singer explained, “This is where we first exchanged numbers. I was like, ‘Oh, this would be cute.’ Everything is lining up in the universe,” she told the outlet. “So I’m happy.”
Meanwhile, Nelly also confirmed their rekindled romance in his interview with the show’s hosts, Rasheeda and Kirk Frost.
“Yeah. We cool again,” Nelly explained during the episode. “We cool again. I think it surprised both of us, though. It wasn’t anything that was, like, I don’t think planned. I think we both was pretty much doing what we do. But sometimes being separate, you understand one another more.”
Although many think the couple were just trolling fans at the gala, if it was true, this would be Ashanti’s very first child.
Nelly is already a dad to two children, Chanelle Haynes and Cornell Haynes.
