Social Media Started Viral #RIPEllen Trend Amid Rumors Of Ellen DeGeneres Show Cancel
Social media had some users seriously questioning if Ellen DeGeneres had passed after they started a viral #RIPEllen trend, spawning numerous viral death hoax tweets and memes, which actually originated over rumors of her show ‘Ellen‘ being cancelled. Users falsely reported that after the rumored cancel, she’d taken her own life.
While the comic and talk show host is alive and well, and producers confirm her show will not be cancelled, Twitter continued to mock the “late” entertainer with phony obituaries, including a plethora of photos of DeGeneres’ celebrity doppelgängers, like Justin Bieber, Jane Lynch, and Katy Perry, plus photos of other celebrities and TV/film characters with similar hairstyles.

Furthermore, the #RIPEllen death hoax and rumors of her show’s cancellation arrive after numerous reports over the last few months, which called the show host mean, negative and disrespectful towards her staff members. The accusations began in March after comedian Kevin T. Porter started a viral Twitter thread, calling for anyone who met DeGeneres to reveal their “insane” stories about “Ellen being mean.”
