Social Media Reacts To Woman Questioning Why Rihanna ‘Played A Kanye Song’ At The Super Bowl After His Recent Controversies

An Israeli actress and writer has stirred up quite the conversation on Twitter after posting a video asking her followers why Rihanna included a ‘Kanye song’ during her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance. Tishby, whose profile description says that she’s also a “special envoy for combating antisemitism” appeared to have made the comment based on Ye’s recent controversies in late 2022.

The rapper had some pretty insensitive comments about being in support of Hitler’s views and wanting to go DEFCON 3 on Jewish people — a remark which would later cost him his business ties with countless industry friends and companies, including Adidas. Tishby seems to imply that because Ye has been “canceled,” why is Rihanna singing songs that feature a “canceled” artist?

“Rihanna has so many hit songs, did she have to a Kanye song?” Tishby said, referring to the 2009 hit song “Run This Town,” which is actually lifted off of Jay-Z’s eleventh studio album, “The Blueprint 3.” She then continued to add, “If a Pop artist would have, um, said that they are going DEFCON 3 on any other ethnicity, let alone everyone else that he said, they would have been canceled and not played on the Super Bowl.” Well, people didn’t agree with her message by the look of her comment section.

“For starters, it’s not “Kanye” it’s “Ye”. That’s his name. Second, this isn’t about you. It’s not about Jews, it’s about Rihanna playing songs she was in,” one annoyed social media user wrote. “Bet you had zero comments for Lady Gaga performing when she did a collab with a pedophile and rapist.”

Another echoed similar words, writing, “TURN YOUR EARS OFF AND CLOSE YOUR EYES THEN… BECAUSE YE INFLUENCED MUCH OF OUR CULTURE TODAY. YOUR WELCOME. SO UNGRATEFUL. THAT SHOULD BE HIS NEXT ALBUM TITLE.”

But it didn’t end there. The comments had clearly proven people were not on Tishby’s side as another user wrote, “Ofc she did. They practically family. You should be asking ‘Does adidas REALLY have to restructure their deal with Kanye to not die off?’ Yes, they have to. Get over yourself lady. A hit song is a hit song for a reason. It SLAPS.”

Socialites, were y’all offended that Rihanna performed a song that featured Kanye West at the Super Bowl?
