Social Media Reacts To Terry Crews’ “Cookout” Tweet: “Never Drank The Koolaid”
Terry Crews is trending online again…this time for his latest tweet.
The actor took to Twitter on Wednesday and randomly said, “The best thing about being uninvited to the cookout…Is you never drank the koolaid.”
Now, although many people still seem to like him as an actor, he has received tons of backlash in the past for his take on certain topics. Back in 2020, he faced heavy criticism for renouncing the Black Lives Matter movement and saying it could lead us into a state of “Black supremacy.” He also faced criticism for not backing former AGT host Gabrielle Union, and for urging Blacks to focus more on Black-on-Black crime instead of police brutality. That same year he put himself back in hot waters with the Black community after another controversial tweet, in which the “White Chicks” actor said “coon” is an acronym for “Conquer Our Own Negativity.” Now, Crews is a trending topic again for his latest tweet, which many people find to be a bit strange. However, Terry is now speaking out to share an explanation as to why he even made this new post:
One Twitter user said to him:
“If you enjoy not having any Black friends, just say so. Spare us the dog whistles, and let me continue confusing you with Lester Speight and mentally inserting him into your role in Everybody Hates Chris. How sad are you to intentionally antagonize Black people…”
Terry then responded,
“What are you talking about? I have plenty of Black friends. My tweet was my response to not being invited back to the Expendables, although I wish them well.”
