41-year-old Richard Jiles was arrested last week after he robbed a Trustmark Bank in Jackson and prior to the heist, he gave the bank teller a threatening note asking for an undisclosed amount of cash. He fled the scene shortly after and the Jackson Police Department posted Jiles’ photo with an accompanying tweet that reads, ‘A male fled with undetermined amount cash after passing threatening note. Incident was captured on surveillance,’

The tweet went viral after users noted that it was the perfect time for someone to rob a bank with a face mask. One user said, “I feel like this may not have been the ideal time to take a stand against wearing a mask.”
