Social media has not forgiven Loni Love for her comments on ‘The Real,”
Loni’s Twitter followers were going in on her after she gave her two cents on why black men cheat. The topic came to light when “The Real” hosts were discussing Joe Budden’s comments on Kevin Hart’s cheating.
“I don’t speak for the Black community but I do think that a lot of Black men, they really don’t know how to have true, faithful relationships,” Loni said. “They think because they have money, because they have power, that they can treat women any kind of way.”
Loni went on to reiterate that black men’s infidelity had a connection to slavery,
“No, it’s not across the board because what is happening is that we are still dealing with the point of slavery,” Love added. “And we are descendants of slavery and because our families were broken up, we still do not have an idea of how to have togetherness because our families were broken up.”
The Grio gathered a few reactions to Loni’s comments that definitely disagree with her comments,
“As a Black woman, all my life, I’ve only known honorable Black men. My Black husband, who is an attorney, is my best friend and business partner. He is so good 2 me. Loyalty is a character thing, not a color thing. Love who you love, but stop generalizing and bashing our Brothas,” wrote @TheTurtonsTV.
Others decided to comment on the fact that she had a white husband with kids from another woman,
“Shocking to know you have a PhD in marriage counseling considering the lack of relationship success you’ve had, took you all these years to snag a white baby daddy with kids from another woman. Congratulations,” wrote @jaybarney13
