According to the New York Post, Hopkins made history as the oldest Best Actor nominee ever at the age of 83.

Viewers took their frustrations to social media and expressed their feelings about the loss. One Twitter user wrote, First they play a sped up In Memoriam set to upbeat music. Then they do Best Picture before Best Actress & Actor to make it seem like it was setting up a Chadwick win & emotional ending only to give it to a guy who couldn’t even be bothered to Zoom & then end the show immediately.”
