Social Media Loses It After Prince Harry Calls The 1st Amendment “Bonkers”

Social media is having a field day with Prince Harry’s latest comment where he called the 1st amendment “bonkers.”

During an appearance for Dax Shepard and Monica Padman’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, the Duke of Sussex discussed what he called the media “freezing frenzy” resulting from his stay at film producer and actor Tyler Perry’s Beverly Hills mansion, specifically taking issue with the paparazzi. “I don’t want to start sort of going down the First Amendment route because that’s a huge subject and one in which I don’t understand because I’ve only been here a short period of time,” Harry said. “But, you can find a loophole in anything. And you can capitalize or exploit what’s not said rather than uphold what is said.”

He went on to say, “I’ve got so much I want to say about the First Amendment as I sort of understand it, but it is bonkers,” he continued. Harry ignited a wave of criticism online over his comment. One social media user wrote, “Prince Harry is attacking America’s First Amendment. Tells you everything you need to know” Controversial commentator Candance Owens added, “How many more Hollywood-style interviews will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle give before they finally achieve the privacy they claim to be so desperate for?”

Of course, Prince Harry and Meghan Markel’s biggest critic, Piers Morgan has something to say about this. He tweeted this Monday morning,

“I didn’t think Harry could go lower than trashing his grandmother as she mourns Prince Philip, but the spineless self-pitying twerp’s attack on free speech makes HIM look bonkers not the US Constitution.”
