This Thursday marks the fifth anniversary of Cardi B’s history-making and game-changing debut album, “Invasion Of Privacy.”
When the project dropped in 2018, it took the music world by storm. As we previously reported, it became the first album by a female rap artist to debut atop the Billboard 200 in twenty years and earned 255,000 album-equivalent units in its first week alone. In addition to that, the New York rap star became the first female artist to chart thirteen songs simultaneously on the Hot 100. Cardi continued making history as the album also became the first ever to have all its tracks certified platinum by the RIAA. As great as that all was, Cardi kept winning as she also scored a “W” at the Grammys for Best Rap Album. Not only was that a history-making moment as well, but it paved the way for other female rappers to be acknowledged in the rap game.
Celebrating the great moment, Cardi B took her Instagram where she posted a video popping a bottle of champagne and a cake that had her album cover art all over it. While taking in the moment with her team, Cardi says, “I’m still getting booked for millions of dollars with one muthaf*ckin’ album!” I know that’s right!
Aside from her own celebration, fans have been praising her online. One said:
