Social Media Blasts Lana Del Rey For Wearing Mesh Mask At Book Signing
On Friday (Oct. 2), singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey shocked fans as she made a surprise appearance at a Los Angeles Barnes & Noble for a book signing. However, her surprise appearance wasn’t the only thing shocking, as fans across social media began to blast her for wearing a mesh mask amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Ahead of meeting and greeting fans during a signing for her poetry book, ‘Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass,’ Del Rey took to her Instagram to make the announcement of her signing, and initially caught backlash there, as she sported a glittery mesh face mask.

While some users likened her mask to that of a fishing net or stocking, others posted a side-by-side with netted fruit at a grocery store. However, the main tweets atting the singer condemned her for wearing such a “useless” and “unprotective” mask amid the pandemic that’s killed hundreds of thousands.
