Snoop Dogg Officially Named As New Owner Of Death Row Records
Congratulations are in order for Snoop Dogg who has officially been named as the new owner of Death Row Records — the label he was once a part of and helped create.
These past few days, there’s been talks of Snoop and NYC rapper Nas looking to acquire the label from the Blackstone-controlled company MNRK Music Group. It’s now confirmed that the California rap legend will be heading the brand he originally joined back in 1993, and where he dropped his critically acclaimed album ‘Doggystyle.’

Speaking on the news, Snoop says, “I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value. It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me. I would like to personally thank the teams at Blackstone, MNRK and especially David Kestnbaum, who worked collaboratively with me over several months to make this exciting homecoming a reality. I’m looking forward to building the next chapter of Death Row Records.” It’s reported that Snoop will also be releasing his new album, ‘B.O.D.R.,’ under the label on February 11. #Socialites, are you ready for this new era of Death Row Records?
