As hard as it’s been for Che to deal with the loss of his loved one, he managed to find the strength not only to return to work but to help others during this pandemic.

On Wednesday, he took to Instagram to announce that he will be paying a month of rent for residents of the same New York City public housing building his late grandmother lived in. Che explained in his post, “It’s crazy to me that residents of public housing are still expected to pay their rent when so many new yorkers can’t even work.” He went on to say, “Obviously I can’t offer much help by myself. but in the spirit and memory of my late grandmother, I’m paying one month’s rent for all 160 apartments in the NYCHA building she lived in.”

The TV star closed his message with plea to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio as well as business mogul, Sean Diddy Combs.

Many have praised the comedian for his generosity on social media, including a New York state lawmaker Yuh-Line Niou.
