SNIPES and Timberland have joined forces to launch their highly anticipated “Rooted in Concrete” collaboration — a limited-edition release and campaign designed to celebrate street culture, resilience, and authenticity.
The centerpiece of the collaboration is the iconic Timberland Premium 6-Inch Waterproof Boot, reimagined with a debossed root motif representing Timberland’s signature tree logo. The roots serve as a metaphor for strength, legacy, and cultural endurance, reflecting how the brand’s footwear has become a symbol of identity across generations.

The exclusive release is accompanied by a 60-second short film that captures the spirit of Harlem, featuring scenes from landmarks like the Apollo Theater and Rucker Park—each a cornerstone of New York City’s creative and cultural heartbeat.
Celebrating the Culture Behind the Craft
According to Kelley Walton, CMO of SNIPES USA, the collaboration represents a meaningful connection between fashion, culture, and place—a fusion that pays tribute to the urban communities that shaped Timberland’s rise to icon status.
“Timberland has been an integral part of SNIPES’ story, and this boot celebrates that legacy while recognizing the cities and communities that have made the footwear silhouette iconic,” Walton explained.

“The root design symbolizes resilience and the ability to thrive wherever you’re planted—from Harlem to Brooklyn, West Philly to the South Side of Chicago, the communities surrounding our stores have shaped what this boot means. This collaboration celebrates all the neighborhoods where Timberland has become part of the fabric of culture,” Walton continued.
Walton also emphasized that “Rooted in Concrete” is not just a design concept—it’s a statement about how community, creativity, and authenticity can grow and thrive even in the toughest environments.
The Design: Classic Timberland Meets Urban Storytelling
The “Rooted in Concrete” collection builds upon Timberland’s timeless aesthetic while adding new layers of cultural storytelling and craftsmanship.
The limited-edition boot keeps Timberland’s signature wheat colorway and waterproof construction, but with elevated details that make it both collectible and wearable.

The debossed root motif is symbolic of the connection between product and place, highlighting how the Timberland boot has evolved from a workwear essential to a global symbol of urban fashion and strength.
Kelley Walton described the project as “honoring the relationship between product and place,” a nod to Timberland’s longstanding connection to inner-city communities where the brand’s identity was born.
The accompanying short film mirrors that message, using Harlem’s rhythm, sound, and visuals to show how the city’s creativity and perseverance remain at the heart of global streetwear.
