The Memphis, TN man has been identified as 26-year-old Reginald Cook and has since been charged with two counts of attempted aggravated robbery, with bond set at $4,000. They said the first attempt was at 2 a.m. when Cook allegedly entered the store to make a purchase but then demanded money from the cashier, who refused, so he left.
Police said he entered the store for a second time about 30 minutes later and again demanded money from the register. However, this time, the employee claimed that the Memphis man reached into his pockets as if he had a weapon on him, but then he left the store after one victim refused to give him any money.

The employee said he allegedly shouted, “Give me the damn money.”
According to the police affidavit, during Cook’s third robbery attempt, the employee saw him reach into his backpack, again implying that he was armed with a weapon. Only this time, someone did pull out a weapon. It’s reported that the cashier withdrew his own gun in self-defense and then called 911. Minutes later, police arrived at the scene and took Cook into custody without further incident.
