Six Officers Fired After Using Excessive Force On Two College Students
According to WSBTV, six Atlanta police officers have been charged after a video showed authorities dragging two young people from a car during protests over the death of George Floyd.

The announcement of the new charges were made by Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard during a news conference Tuesday. The victims Messiah Young and Taniyah, also spoke out following the news. “I feel a little safer now that these monsters are off the street and no longer able to terrorize anyone else,” said Messiah who was assaulted and yanked from the vehicle along with his girlfriend, Taniyah.
As the news site notes, four of the cops have been charged with aggravated assault — Mark Gardner, for tasing Pilgrim; Ivory Streeter, for tasing Young and pointing a gun at him; Lonnie Hood for using a Taser on the couple; and Willie Sauls for pointing a Taser.
Meanwhile, officer, Armond Jones, has been charged with aggravated battery for forcefully throwing Young down on the street and pointing a gun at him while the sixth officer, Roland Claud, is charged with criminal damage to property for the couples’ car.
The news comes shortly as Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms fired both Gardner and Streeter immediately after learning of the incident, and the other 4 were intially placed on desk duty.
