Tragic Update: The Decker Sisters Found Dead After Visiting Homeless Father
Police have confirmed the heartbreaking news — the three young sisters who vanished after visiting their troubled, homeless father have been found dead.
32-year-old Travis Decker had picked up his daughters — Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5 — from their mom’s house on Friday for a scheduled visit. He then vanished with them in his white 2017 GMC Sierra truck. AMBER Alerts were blasted out and later canceled late Monday night without much explanation.
Then Tuesday hit, and police confirmed the worst. They released a statement sending their “sincere and deep heartfelt condolences to the family.”
The girls’ bodies were discovered late Monday, not far from their father’s truck, near a remote campground. Cops say Decker — a military vet with serious survival training — is now on the run, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Who Is Travis Decker? And Why Police Are Warning He’s “Highly Trained”
Decker is no random dude. This man is a trained veteran with extensive survival skills — and that’s exactly why authorities are sounding the alarm. They believe he knows how to avoid being caught and could be hiding out in nature.
According to cops, Decker — who was divorced and without a stable home — often stayed at local campgrounds and motels with his dog. Now, he’s facing three counts each of kidnapping and first-degree murder.
What’s even more heartbreaking is that before the girls were found, their mom told reporters she never had issues with him being around the kids.
“Travis has really struggled since he left the military and his mental health can be hard sometimes,” she told KIRO7. “I think that he is impulsive and he loves his children very much.”

“He Loves His Children Very Much” — Mom Speaks Out Before The Tragedy
Before this turned into every parent’s worst nightmare, the girls’ mom opened up publicly, hoping for a safe return. Her voice was full of pain, but also love. She trusted him — even with his mental health battles — because he had never harmed the girls.
“I never had any problems with Travis when it came to the kids,” she told the outlet. “I just didn’t think he would ever do something like this.”
That part hits heavy now. She stood up for him — even while fearing the worst — because she believed he loved those girls.
Now she has to bury all three of them.
The Manhunt: Police Say Call 911 If You See Him
Decker is officially wanted and considered armed and dangerous. Police are begging anyone who might’ve seen him, his truck, or anything suspicious since Friday to call 911 immediately.
No cause of death has been released just yet, but an autopsy is underway. Authorities are still trying to piece it all together.
