A Singaporean man has pleaded guilty in court after confessing to posing as a white man on Tinder to manipulate women into sending him nude photos.

The 25-year-old man identified as Ong Chun Siang created a fake profile on the dating app under the name “Jake” and convinced multiple women to send nude photos during their conversations. Siang would often send threatening messages to expose the nude photos if the women ignored him or denied his request for sexual favors.
Siang started the scheme back in 2018 and started interacting with a 30-year-old woman on the app and exchanged numbers so they could continue talking on WhatsApp. When she refused his sexual favors, he created a fake profile of the woman on OkCupid and posted her personal information along with her nude photos.

The victim told police that she made the discovery when she started receiving calls from strangers and told the platform to remove the fake profile.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Shem Wanqin said the women alerted police officers about Siang after refusing to comply with his threats and stopped communicating with him. “The victim expressed her discomfort with the accused’s request and told him that she was worried he was not who he represented himself to be,”
On Friday, Siang pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal intimidation and harassment.
