Sheriff Claims NFL’s Vincent Jackson Was Suffering From “Chronic Alcoholism” And CTE Before Death

A few details are beginning to emerge in the untimely death of former NFL player Vincent Jackson, who was found dead in a hotel room on Monday.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister went on the “MJ Morning Show” to speak on some key findings with Jackson’s autopsy, including the fact that Jackson suffered from “chronic alcoholism.”

“Just tragic,” Chronister said. “We haven’t got the toxicology report back, so we can’t say with any certainty that that was it, but a lot of long-standing health conditions that contributed to his passing because of some alcohol abuse.”

The official autopsy report will be released on Wednesday. There had been speculation that the former Buccaneer was suffering from CTE.

“[The family believes] wholeheartedly that all of these actions are a result of what he suffered from while he played in the NFL,” Chronister added.
