Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal is going viral after sitting down for a Bobbi Althoff interview, during which he says he’s “the love doctor” and is then seen wagging his tongue.

In recent months, Althoff has gained momentum online for her dry humor and awkward interview style, which we’ve seen in sit-downs with Drake, Lil Yachty, Funny Marco and more. The next big star to sit next to Althoff is none other than Shaq.
While teasing the new full interview, which is scheduled to drop on Thursday (September 7), a clipped version has surfed online and is going viral as Shaq calls himself the “love doctor,” and offers viewers a preview at some of his “services.”
In the clip, Althoff tells Shaq to introduce himself. He says, “My name is Dr. Shaquille O’Neal.” Althoff follows and replies, “Well. Congratulations on your career as a doctor. What type of medicine do you practice?” Shaq rebuttals, “No, I’m not that type of doctor,” and Althoff looks confused and asks, “What type of doctor are you?”
The former NBA star says, “I’m not a medical doctor.” Althoff further questions, “Are you a psychiatrist?” Shaq replies, “No. But, I do have a minor in psychology.” Althoff, says, “Ohhhh. So you’re like a therapist?” Shaq confirms, “I can be if I want to. I also could have been a professor, but I don’t [want to].”
When asked if he sees patients regularly, Shaquille O’Neal replies, “All the time.” Bobbi Althoff further inquires, “And they talk to you about their problems?” Shaq oddly reveals, “They don’t talk, they just listen.” Althoff tries to get clarity and asks, “So, you just talk to them? About your problems?” Shaq says, “Yes” to both questions.
Althoff then asks if Shaq’s “patients” pay him for that, and he admits, “Well, they don’t pay me.” She then asks why does he do that, and if it’s for charity. Shaq replies, “‘Cause I’m the love doctor,” and then he tips his shades up, exposing his eyes, looks directly into the camera and continues wagging his tongue.
Looking uncomfortable, Bobbi Althoff turns her attention away from Shaquille O’Neal and stares at the floor in confusion, and utters out, “Okay.” Shaq then adds, “And they don’t pay me, ’cause if they paid me, that would be illegal. So, I guess it’s free.” Althoff uncomfortably adds, “Great. Thank you for sharing that with me.”
