Sex Offender Who ‘Threatened To Kill Donald Trump’ Is On The Loose, Arizona Authorities Believe He’s In Area Of Trump’s Rally Today

Authorities in Arizona believe a sex offender who “threatened to kill Donald Trump” is on the loose and in the area of his rally today (August 22) near the Southern border.

According to Tucson news outlet KVOA, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office has launched a manhunt for Ronald Lee Syrvud — whom police describe as a 66-year-old 6-foot and 220-pound White man with glasses from Benson. Police say the man, who is also a convicted sex offender, is wanted on several outstanding warrants, including charges for alleged threats to kill a presidential candidate: former President Donald Trump.

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said Syrvud was last seen in Benson and that he has outstanding warrants out of Wisconsin for a DUI and failure to appear for DUI, along with outstanding warrants out of Graham County, Arizona for hit-and-run and felony failure to register as a sex offender.

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office has reason to believe that the sex offender who allegedly threatened to kill Donald Trump is on the run and in the border region where Trump is due to speak today. The former president and Republican nominee in the 2024 presidential race is visiting Sierra Vista, Arizona, which is in Cochise County.

On Wednesday (August 21), the former president took to Truth Social and revealed what he plans to discuss at his campaign event in Arizona. He claimed he will “address the plague of migrant crime that so-called Border Czar, comrade Kamala Harris has unleashed on America.” At his rally in Arizona, Trump will be joined by his running mate, Ohio senator J.D. Vance.

Trump has plans to secure the Southern border and deter illegal immigration. which includes reimplementing several policies he introduced during his first term in office. This includes the Remain in Mexico program, which forced migrants to wait for proceedings south of the border, instead of the United States.

The news of the sex offender on the loose in the area of Donald Trump’s Arizona rally today arrives after the former president survived an assassination attempt at his July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. In the incident, Trump was grazed on the right ear with a bullet, one man died, and another was wounded as a result of the gunman, whom a US Secret Service counter-sniper fatally shot. He was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.
