Jessica Bakeman claims she was sexually harassed by Cuomo at the beginning of her career as a statehouse reporter in Albany, New York. She wrote in an essay for New York Magazine describing Cuomo’s behavior during a 2014 holiday party and said he hugged her tightly as she saying goodbye to her colleagues for the night. “He put his other arm around my back, his hand on my waist, and held me firmly in place while indicating to a photographer he wanted us to pose for a picture,” the piece reads.

She further adds that she didn’t want a picture with Cuomo that displayed inappropriate body language. Bakeman notes she noticed several red flags two years prior to the party and said he slid his arm across her shoulder then held her tightly against him while talking to her male counterparts.

“He left it there and kept me pinned next to him, for several minutes as he finished telling his story. I stood there, my cheeks hot, giggling nervously as my male colleagues did the same. We all knew it was wrong, but we did nothing.”
