Multiple people were injured after a deadly shooting was carried out at a Milwaukee funeral home early Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting took place during a funeral for a homicide victim at the Serenity Funeral Home located on West Fond Du Lac Avenue around 12:45 pm. Authorities reported that the victims were aged 24 to 48 years old but they are expected to survive and more than 100 witnesses were in attendance at the time of the shooting. It is currently unclear as to what lead up to the shooting.
Acting Chief Michael Brunson condemned the shooting during a press conference and said investigators are working “feverishly” to identify those involved.
‘Our prayers are with the victims and their family members during this terrible time. This is an untenable situation, this brazen act that was done in broad daylight is unacceptable in our city. We are working feverishly to identify who committed this act,’

The shooting was described as a drive-by shooting and police have yet to release any leads regarding the suspect. Witnesses also stated they saw some of the victims exiting out of the funeral home covered in blood.
