The Senate has passed the $2 trillion rescue package to help Americans during the COVID-19 outbreak.
According to the Daily Mail, the bill was passed by the Senate in a unanimous vote of 96-0 Wednesday night. The economic relief bill is considered the largest in U.S. history with 883 pages detailing the costs to help Americans. It details that many Americans will recieve direct checks, expanding unemployment benefits and a $367 billion program for small businesses to help pay their workers who are currently at home.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell called the approval ‘a proud moment’ after it was finalized.

The bill also consisted of $500 billion worth of subsidized loans for larger businesses such as airlines, motor vehicles, and hospitals. Hospitals will be expected to recieve $130 billion due to the rapid influx of patients testing and receiving treatment for COVID-19. $45 billion will go straight to FEMA to help local communities.
Treasury Secretary Steven Muchin said in a statement that the aid would last for about three months depending on the economy’s stability.
 ‘We’ve anticipated three months. Hopefully, we won´t need this for three months.’
