Security Guard Fatally Shot After Telling Customer To Put On Face Mask
Calvin Munerlyn, a father of nine, who was working as a security guard was fatally shot at a Family Dollar in Michigan after he told a customer that they could not come in without a mask.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton charged 45-year-old Sharmel Teague, 44-year-old Larry Edward Teague Jr., and 23-year-old Ramonyea Bishop with the senseless killing.
Security footage caught most of the incident. Initially Calvin told Sharmel Teague, that she and her daughter could not enter without face masks. She then yelled and spit on him before driving off. However, 20 minutes later, the same vehicle l returned occupied by her husband and her son. They confronted Calvin over the incident with Sharmel. Her son then shot Calvin in the back of the head.

“Decisions like staying home when we can, wearing a mask when going to the store and staying a safe distance from those around us, these should not be political arguments,” Leyton said. “They don’t necessitate acts of defiance and we simply cannot devolve into an us-versus-them mentality.
“We really need to make a commitment as a community … to doing the things necessary to allow us to stay healthy and turn the page on this crisis altogether. If not for ourselves, we should do this for Calvin Munerlyn, who has lost his life needlessly and senselessly.”
The mother has been arrested but police are still looking for the husband and son.
Munerlyn’s wife is distraught and her life has been turned upside down.
“He always done security, he’s done security in night clubs in the worst of the worst nightclubs and nobody still ever just thought to do my baby like that. Latryna Sims Munerlyn said. “I’m just suffocating, I feel like a knife is in my chest.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up to the help the family.
