Prosecutors Accuse Sean Kingston And Mother Of Defrauding Businesses Of $1M
As we previously shared, Sean Kingston and his mother were both accused of defrauding businesses out of more than $1 million in a fraud scheme. The scam involved jewelry, luxury vehicles, and other high-priced goods. Federal prosecutors accused the duo of scamming businesses and falsely claiming they sent money transfers to pay for high-end goods.
They were accused of keeping all of the items even after businesses learned that their payments never cleared. Prosecutors say the duo obtained more than $1 million in property in their alleged scheming. They’re accused of scamming a car dealer of a $160,000 Cadillac Escalade and scamming jewelers of $480,000 worth of items.
In May 2024, the feds raided Kingston’s Florida mansion, which made headlines. During the raid, authorities arrested Kingston’s mother. Hours after her arrest, the singer found himself in custody as well.
During the trial, the judge reportedly deemed Kingston’s mother as the “fixer” and “nerve center” for the alleged fraud schemes. Meanwhile, the singer’s defense team argued he was simply a “child” unaware of his finances and how things worked.
